Corylus avellana contorta 'Red Dragon'
A large shrub or small tree, this corylus has twisting, contorted stems with leaves emerging a dark burgundy in the spring and fading to green by summer. Long burgundy catkins dangle from stems in the winter on mature plants. Resistant to eastern filbert blight.
