Forms compact, rounded clumps making it a good choice for edging, containers, the front of borders, or growing among rocks
Prefers to have its roots in cool soil; summer mulch is helpful, particularly in hot summers
Tolerates a wide range of conditions and spreads rapidly as long as good drainage is provided; performs poorly in very dry or wet soils
